Construction is easy….
I’ve done my fair share of managing builders and projects from small cosmetic refurbishments to converting a very old semi-commercial building into two flats. If you haven’t seen this check the three videos on youtube!
Recently I just finished a office job which was for my parents. This room was actually my room many years ago when I was a baby hence the wall paper and Peter Rabbit on the door.
This room unfortunatly over the years became a junk room where everyone would throw there unwanted clothes, shoes, jackets, paperwork and more. I think everyone has one of these rooms!
It was time for a change.
These sort of jobs I can do with my eyes closed. I knew straight away who was fitting the wardrobes, doing the painting, fitting the floor, (me on this occasion) doing the electrics and fitting the blind. With some basic planning this room took no time at all.
I have listed below the exact steps taken to bring this room from a junk room to a modern office.
1. Plasterboarded over the artex ceiling
-
2. Remove all wallpaper
-
3. Double socket was installed and moved
-
4. Sand and fill all holes and discrepancies
-
5. Remove old door and install new one
-
6. Remove old radiator, install after paint work is completed
-
7. Paint walls, ceiling, woodwork
-
8. Fit radiator
-
9. Fit 12mm laminate flooring
-
10. Install wardrobes, desk, and wall uni
-
11. Fit roller blind
-
12. Install spotlights
-
13. Fit handle on new door
Why was this project easy. Mainly because the network of reliable, experienced trades I have built up over the years, aswell as my own experience on and off the tools. Youtube video of this room coming soon.
